Buffalo, NY – The mystery of autism is a growing concern in the United States. It is estimated that one and a half million Americans suffer from the disease. Parents and caregivers suffer along with them, trying to find answers and treatments. But in some countries it is even harder to find ways to cope. The FIVE Project is a not-for-profit group working to help autistic children and their families in China. The organization's founder, Helen McCabe will be speaking tonight at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Buffalo. WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with McCabe by phone about the group's mission.

McCabe will speak as a guest of the UB Asian Studies Program at 7:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Buffalo. It's free and open to the public.
